Where can I find a Business Angel?

Business angel investors can be hard to find. However, once you have found a source of a few it will become much easier for you to track down many more. Just like buses, you may find that there will be none for ages then many will come along at once!

Good sources and places to look to find business angel investors include:

  • Make sure your accountant knows you are looking for a business angel. They may be able to put you in touch with their clients that are looking to invest. Also consider approaching other accountants and solicitors in your area.
  • Networking - this can be done on the Internet and by joining a local networking group in your area.
  • Contact your local Chamber of Commerce to find out if they can put you in touch with a potential investor.
  • The Internet - specialist sites (such as this), and forums can provide a good way of getting in touch with business angels.
  • Write letters to your local business publications, both newspapers and magazines.
  • Books about business angel investors will often include a list of contacts.
  • Formal matching services and angel alliances.
  • Mailing lists and publications.
  • The BBC's Dragon's Den TV show.
